We are accepting sweet treat donations on Monday, April 21st at our Tuscola location (400 S Washington St.) for a special treat day for our drivers on April 22nd. Feel free to drop your donated treats off anytime between the hours of 8-4:30pm!

Springtime safety reminder! 🌷🚌 As the weather warms up and more students are out and about, it's important to remember school bus danger zones. These are areas around the bus where visibility is limited for the driver. Staying clear of these zones except when boarding or exiting helps keep everyone safe!

We want to extend a heartfelt THANK YOU to our amazing bus drivers for safely transporting our students every day. Your dedication is truly appreciated!

🚦 Driver Safety Tip 1: Always stop when a school bus has its stop sign extended and red lights flashing. This means children are getting on or off the bus. Stopping is the law, and it protects our students.

🚗 Driver Safety Tip 2: Stay alert and slow down in school zones and near bus stops. Little ones can sometimes be unpredictable, so reducing your speed gives you more time to react.

The centerpiece of National School Bus Safety Week is the Poster Contest. Thousands of school districts in over 40 states participate in local and state-level competitions to select artwork that depicts school bus safety-related themes and encourages and promotes school bus safety. The winning posters are used to promote safer school transportation for everyone. It's National School Bus Safety Week, so #GTS would like to remind everyone of the important role we all play in keeping our children safe as they travel to and from school. According to NHTSA, there were 976 fatal school transportation-related crashes from 2013-2022, resulting in 1,082 deaths.

It’s National School Bus Safety Week!

School safety starts right at the bus stop, so let’s keep our kids safe with these easy tips:

Arrive at the bus stop five minutes early. Stand five giant steps away from the curb. Wait for the bus to come to a complete stop, the door to open, and the driver to give the green light before stepping on board. Make sure you’re visible to the driver, and the driver can see you too!

Let’s work together to make every bus ride a safe one. Share these tips with your children and keep everyone safe!

1.School Bus Safety starts at the stop.🚌🛑Share these tips with your children:
⏰Arrive at the bus stop 5 minutes early.

2. School Bus Drivers 🚌: The greatest risk to a child isn’t riding a school bus,but approaching or leaving one. Stay alert. Stay engaged. Keep them safe

3.🟡 Yellow lights absolutely 🟡on a school bus indicate the bus is preparing to stop. 🛑if your driving,slow down ,stay alert, and watch out for children 👧 🧒🏾

4. See the school bus stop arm? TIME TO STOP 🛑 Racing past the arm puts young lives in jeopardy.

5. School is session That means more children are outside waiting for the bus during certain hours. Slowdown and watch for children playing and gathering near the bus stops .

It's National School Bus Safety Week! 🚌

School buses are statistically the safest way to transport school children. Unfortunately, dangers still arise: From 2000-2022, there were 55 fatalities in crashes that involved a driver illegally passing a stopped school bus, an average of 2.4 fatalities a year. Almost half of those fatalities (25) were pedestrians who were 18 years old or younger.
